ReScape provides a regenerative, whole systems approach to landscaping education, workforce development and policy, addressing earthscape climate change issues. ReScape was undergoing a complete rebrand and reached out wanting to refresh and update all of their imagery for their website, newsletters, and classes.
Highland Hospital Acute Tower Replacement
Year completed: 2020
The Acute Tower Replacement Project re-envisioned the layout of the urban hospital campus to culminate in a 1-acre urban park in the center of the property reminiscent of the historic central quadrangle. The medical center expansion includes a 255,500 SF Acute Care Replacement Tower, a 72,000 s.f. Satellite building (ambulatory care clinic) and a new front entry connecting corridors to the clinic area and the patient tower. The new buildings achieved LEED Gold certification.
Lake Side Green Streets
Year completed: 2019
PlaceWorks worked with the City of Oakland to develop a design concept for Snow Park, reconfigure the intersection of Lakeside Drive and Harrison Street, and improve the path and landscape along Lake Merritt’s edge, as outlined in the 2002 Lake Merritt Master Plan. The Snow Park redesign will improve the functionality of the park to meet the needs of the local community, and the Streetscape Plan will reconfigure the intersection at 20th Street, reduce traffic lanes, treat stormwater and create a pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly multimodal corridor along Lakeside Drive and Harrison Street adjacent to Lake Merritt. The integrated project design addresses community safety and livability concerns and creates a more inviting environment.
Emeryville Greenway, Powell to Stanford
Year completed: 2017
This project is part of the Emeryville Greenway, which extends through Emeryville from Berkeley to Oakland. This segment of the Greenway includes Peladeau Park includes public gathering spaces and amenities as well as a windmill that serves to power the lighting.
